Summary:Some secrets shouldn't be kept...
Until three months ago, everything in sixteen-year-old Camelia's life had been fairly ordinary: decent grades, an okay relationship with her parents, and a pretty cool part-time job at the art studio downtown. But when a mysterious boy named Ben starts junior year at her high school, Camelia's life becomes anything but ordinary.Rumored to be somehow responsible for his ex-girlfriend's accidental death, Ben is immediately ostracized by everyone on campus. Except for Camelia. She's reluctant to believe he's trouble, even when her friends try to convince her otherwise. Instead, she's inexplicably drawn to Ben. And to his touch. But soon, Camelia is receiving eerie phone calls and strange packages with threatening notes. Ben insists she is in danger, and that he can help-but can he be trusted? She knows he's hiding something... but he's not the only one with a secret. From the best-selling author of Blue is for Nightmares comes a new series that's sure to be a thrilling and chilling teen favorite.

My Review: This book was in ways better then what I thought and in other ways different. I thought it would be really junvinelle but it wasn't! The author wrote it so it seems the main charaters are thinking more than clothes or how they look; which, let's face it, most teens think like that. But it was scray, and that was something I didn't expect! It also very true to life. Also, what Ben's "thing" is, is a REAL good twist! Plus, duh, who it it, is W-H-O-A. This a great book, and I totally thing that if you read this you need the playlist from Laurie's site, which I didn't have but I would have liked to have. AwEsOmE book; can't give it enough praise. But I will say: I cried at the end. PS - I wish Ben was real! Unfair!! :)-

Exert: "If it were up to me, all boys would come with a label: Failure to take in small doses may result in irrational behavior, poor judgment, and enstranglement from one's friends." - 213

Champagne Girl

Name: Champagne Girl
Author: Diana Palmer
Pages: 251
Start Date: January 2
Finish Date: January 2
Type: Adult Romance; Paperback
Status: Library
Rating:

Summary: Tired of being controlled, Catherine must match wits with Matt in order to escape to New York to follow her dreams, but the tables turn, and she is caught in a game of temptation and desire.

My Review: I would only recommend this to 14 yrs/o and older. Well actually I wouldn't recommend it at all! The whole book is basically foreplay. If you don't know what that is, ask your mom if you want a awkward conversation. But, yeah, the whole book was about to people that have loved each other and want each other and they just tease them selves to death (very nicely i might say) but "it" never actually happens. It was a quick read for me, 251 pages in 4 hours, so it didn't get to me to bad. But, like my mom, for people that take 3 weeks to read a 251 page book, it would be a let down.

Exert: "They took in the picture: swollen mouths, dreamy looks, Catherine's crumpled shirt, Matt's shirt half unbuttoned. They grinned. 'How about some champagne?' Hal offered. 'Get it out', Matt agreed. 'It feels like a champagne morning, all right.'" - pg. 250

Cover/Title: Cheesy cover and they only break out the champagne twice???!!!!!

Summary:

She’s come to terms with the vast powers the vampyre goddess, Nyx, has given her, and is getting a handle on being the new Leader of the Dark Daughters. Best of all, Zoey finally feels like she belongs--like she really fits in. She actually has a boyfriend…or two. Then the unthinkable happens: Human teenagers are being killed, and all the evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey’s old life, she begins to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves. Then, when she needs her new friends the most, death strikes the House of Night, and Zoey must find the courage to face a betrayal that could break her heart, her soul, and jeopardize the very fabric of her world.

My Review: I loved it! The 1st one gives you the lay of of the land but this one focuses more on what is going on. It was WAY more sexier and I loved that! Also it just flowed along nicely, with no boring parts.LOL And I don't know who she should choose; Heath: cute mortal; Erik: steaming hot fledgling; Loren: mysterious, off limits teacher. But I have to read the rest of the books... PLEASE DON'T TELL ME ANY SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!

Exert: "Hey, Lucky Charms are good for you." - Stevie Ray
"Really? So, tell me, what are marshmallows- a fruit or a vegetable?" - Zoey
"Both. They're unique- like me." - Stevie Ray
-pg. 77

Cover/Title: It's an ok cover, I mean it kinda fits but it's just a cover to me. And the title fits I think more with the 3rd but it's ok.
