Starstruck
Starstruck by Cyn Balog

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This bok just made me go "hmmmmmm" a lotttt. The idea was cool, not over dramatized or crazy with a love triangle (which was possible).
I love how Dough reminded me of ME, through and through and the hardships of being a freak and having a god as a boyfriend xD
What id dint like was how really no one described very well =/ Like Christian? Dreads, green teeth and possible pimples. That's all!! I really love Cyn's writing in "Fairy Tale" and this was still awesome writing, it just seemed a little rushed. Finished it in 2 sittings ^^

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
Ok now I compare ANY time traveling book to Knight in Shining Amour by Jude Deveraux (What well read woman doesnt??) and this ALMOST was better! This was a tadd cheesy at times but cute and funny and -magical-. Of course this is the first in the series (THANK GOD) and it has a nice little family tree in the front so you know who all has their own books!!! NO EXPLICATE SEX whatsoever so that was a nice touch ;) (har-har)

Thanks LaRhea for this book :))

Why I Let My Hair Grow Out
Why I Let My Hair Grow Out by Maryrose Wood

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I wanted to love this book so much but the writing just never pulled me in... the story was good but for me it skipped around to much. Like randomly she was holding hands with a guy or you never got described where she was until she left that place and just ug... The idea was great, if not explained throughly. I just wanted to sit and stare at the cover! I really liked the rest of the gang in the tour, and Colin but surprisingly I only liked the bad Queen in fae land ^.^ Will read the others just so i can say I finsihed a series!

It was so-so. The family is just fantasic, the guy is droolable, but her facts were scattered and for me it was a tad hard to follow her moodiness. Writing was great; humor + whiches + tree climbing gotas + sexy Texan man? = Entertainment

Omfg.... like

Just such a bloody fantasic story and charatars and idea and it ended with this...
I was very disspointed in a way because its like "respect your books and END IT! Dont leave us hangin'!!"

Ok heres what she left hanging **spoilers to what you dont find out**

1. Where the hell in Anna?
2. Will Chris become eveil now??
3. Where the FUCK is Dylan!?
4. Ok whats with the "3 gulps" of blood? If youtake more do you become bonded to that person /evil /just a full tummy?...
5. We NEED more detailing on how she can be part of a bastard line or whatever... Thats just wayyy to cool.
and finally....
6. WHAT THE FUCK GRAVES!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! YOU CAN NOT END AN AWESOME SERIES LIKE THIS AND HIM JUST GOING AWAY!!! I get where he is coming from but really?

description

All I can say is that I wont stop raging about this for a loong time (my poor cat) and she better freakin be making another book, weither it be a prequel to how she got into the bastard line like a 5 years later book...

What do you think her name stands for? That would suck if was as easy as Drusilla...

Everneath
Everneath by Brodi Ashton

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The ONLY reason this book does not get a 5* is because I hated how "Beck" (wtf? I would never let my boyfriend call me by HALF of my last name! Thats not very romantic at all...) was such a chicken shit. If I were her, I would have been happy for everyone, hooked Jules and Jack or at least make Jack hate me then go with COLE! COLE COLE COLE!!!! For some reason I just didn't enjoy Jack at all , but I wanted to know so much about Cole. The concept is awesome and how she fuildly put the past and present together was awesome :) Should have been a black dress on the cover but thats ok , 'cause it so pretty to look at ^^

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ok I so totally had a whole review mapped out in my head, full of spoliers and questions and now Im like 'duuuuhhhhhggg...um...ya...awesome...?"
Its soo not helping that I have that new Matchbox 20 song in my head!
... OMG ok ya one thing is that they sang a 30 seconds to mars song AND Adam Sandler's Hanukkah song!!!!!!!
description
Oo and ok heres a spolier question:
Did any one think that when the queen kissed Zara maybe SHE was gonna reverse the kiss and make Astleys momma human?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!! :o I was totally holding my breath waiting for that to happen... and I still am...
Well all and all Im pretty happy with this being the last book. I loved how to romance ended up, even though Zara just ERGed me sometimes. I didnt like how poor Is and Dev were like not featured much and they were always sperated :c btw Im totally Is ^^
But Mrs.Jones did a total bang up job on the Nor Lore (hehehe x3) and a nice spin on the end of the world DUM DUM DUMMM.
And ok... Was i last to figure out "Betty White the Tiger"?

Review: Catching Jordan

Catching Jordan
Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ok the ONLY reason I did not give this book a perfect 5 is because ....
Her and Henry are like what now friends with benefits? dating?? She needed to wrap up the story a teeny bit more with like an epilogue if she is never planning to write a sequel... But a sequel would be fricken awesome!!!! Do they appear in any of the other books??
Ok done with my spoiler rant ^^
This book was just Frekin awesome. I LOVED how it was so true to life with the cussing and how these high school kids are sexually active because HELLO football players and cheerleaders? Duh people. But we never see anything more than making out which I appreciated because I did not need pictures of JJ doing something xD I adored alll the characters (But I didnt like Ty from the start) and the setting and mmmmmm Mr. Sam Henry
description
Also I loved/hated the dad relationship... Im super close to my dad and it killed me how Jordan was such a bitch to him all the time! Talk about PRIDE.

All in all an awesome book that total rivals Susane Colasanti's book, because there was less family drama-rama and honestly im shocked none of the football players turned out to be gay!

Cover:
UM their team is black and red? Wtf with the purple? and we totally know Woods would not where bracelets....

For some reason this book just didn't enthrall me at all. Great concept , original story line , but it just seemed flatlined to me. Yet i kept flipping the pages. Good book if you can read fast but if it takes you a month to read a book, don't waste your time. Still going to read the second book ... I think.

Finish Date: May 8th, 2012
Type: Victornan YA Paranormal EVERYTHING
Status: Library; Prequel to the Mortal Instruments & #1 in the Infernal Devices series
Rating:
Summary:
Magic is dangerous—but love is more dangerous still. When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos. Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What’s more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own. Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by—and torn between—two best friends: James, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length . . . everyone, that is, but Tessa. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world. . . . and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all.

My Review:
The only reason the book got 3 stars is because 1- No one can beat Jace!; 2- the begining was sooo dry for some reason to me! I mean, so much happens right off the bat, I didnt get into it that much till half way thrugh. This book though is very fast paced and for any followers of Mrs.Clare , they will completely enjoy it. The victorian scene with such deteiled charaters and suprising events and shocking secrets will entrap anyone in its pages. Plus a love triangle that doesnt know its a love trinagle is just to yummy! Lol! Its got blood, kissing, lies, and robots... How could you not like it? c=

Excerpt:
“You know," Gabriel said, "there was a time I thought we could be friends, Will."

"There was a time I thought I was a ferret," Will said, "but that turned out to be the opium haze. Did you know it had that effect? Because I didn't.”

Cover:
Neat, but not how I picture Will...I wish Jem would have been on the cover x)

Veronica Roth's young adult Divergent trilogy launches with a captivating adventure about love and loyalty playing out under most extreme circumstances.
My Review:
Ok when I bought this book , I was completely distracted because that day I met my boyfriend =) So after letting this book sit on my shelf for 3 months I thought I'd read it ! I went blindly into its pages and came out st-st-sstunned; this book is just WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. I couldn't get enough! Sometimes the writing would be a tad dry but with all the twists, secrets and plots you really dont give a crap. This concept of the world is intriguing and mind blowing. The characters were all different and harshly beautiful. I have no clue how I'm going to make it through this series with only 3 more books AND have to wait THREE YEARS for the last book. The wait might kill me but I have to read this whole series. You should too.
PS- WAY better then the hunger games btw!
Excerpt:
“I might be in love with you." He smiles a little. "I'm waiting until I'm sure to tell you, though.”

Prada and Prejudice

Name: Prada and Prejudice
Author:
Pages: 238
Start Date: October 2nd, 2011
Finish Date: October 3rd, 2011
Type: Lite Historical teen romance-y
Status: Library
Rating:

Summary:
To impress the popular girls on a high school trip to London, klutzy Callie buys real Prada heels. But trying them on, she trips, conks her head, and wakes up in the year 1815! There Callie meets Emily, who takes her in, mistaking her for a long-lost friend. As she spends time with Emily's family, Callie warms to them, particularly to Emily's cousin Alex, a hottie and a duke, if a tad arrogant.
But can Callie save Emily from a dire engagement, and win Alex's heart, before her time in the past is up?
More Cabot than Ibbotson, Prada and Prejudice is a high-concept romantic comedy about finding friendship and love in the past in order to have happiness in the present.

My Review:
This book was cute and quite a fast read but it wasnt all sugar and spice....
The whole premise was fantastic but I wanted more detail and for her and Alex to get it onnnn ;D (just kidding)
In some ways she was way to old to be merely 15 and in some cases she acted 12; not thinking and just saying.
If I was in the situation Callie found herself in I think I would've handled much MUCH better.

Also I loved the shoes!
But all in all this was a cute, fun, and fast read =)

Excerpt:
“What do you mean, ruined?"
From the way Emily swallows slowly, you'd think we were talking about smoking crack. "Compromised. By...by another man."
"Oh!" I say, too loudly. "You mean, if the girl's not a virgin, the guy won't marry her?"
She nods, her eyes wide, as if being a non-virgin is akin to being an ax-murder.”

Cover:
So cute! :D

Sea Change

Name: Sea Change
Author: Aimee Friedman
Pages: 294
Start Date: August 29th, 2011
Finish Date: September 11th, 2011
Type: Mystical Island Lore Fantasy
Status: Library
Rating:

Summary:
Sixteen-year-old Miranda Merchant is great at science. . .and not so great with boys. After major drama with her boyfriend and (now ex) best friend, she's happy to spend the summer on small, mysterious Selkie Island, helping her mother sort out her late grandmother's estate. There, Miranda finds new friends and an island with a mysterious, mystical history, presenting her with facts her logical, scientific mind can't make sense of. She also meets Leo, who challenges everything she thought she knew about boys, friendship. . .and reality. Is Leo hiding something? Or is he something that she never could have imagined?

My Review:
This book for me wasn't "all that" sadly. I think the characters, mother and daughter especially needed to grow up. Also there was just to much mystery and not nearly enough answers. This whole story could have been easily a short story. The author desperately needs to make another book other wise I will feel like it was a waste to read this. On the good sides, I loved some of the folklore and stories and the twisted secrets. Overall its an enjoyable summer read.

Excerpt:
“Summer-induced stupidity.That was the diagnosis...”

Cover:
Veryyy cool, a little abstract. obviously the people are gorgeous but i cant tell whats going on. Definitely a cover to stare at lol
